First steps:
Session Length:
Therapy sessions are scheduled weekly for 50 minutes. This is the standard length of a counseling session. If you are interested in a longer session (75 minutes) please contact us regarding availability and pricing.
What to expect in the first session:
The initial session is an intake where the therapist will gather information to understand your presenting stressor. The next session is the time for you to start to share your story and talk about your goals and what you would like to change. Another important aspect of the first session is deciding if the therapist is a good fit. Does the therapist seem like someone you can trust? We are establishing a relationship that will become the foundation for working together. You will begin to figure out some goals; the therapist will begin to figure out how to help you get there. During this session, the therapist will ask a variety of questions to better assist you in meeting those goals.
Cancellation Policy:
We require 24 hours notice of cancellation or you will be expected to pay for the appointment. An occasional exception may be made in the case of an emergency. It’s important that you meet consistently to make progress and that you communicate any conflicting events with ample time to your therapist.
Insurances currently accepted:

In addition, they will be able to answer your questions regarding services, confidentiality, and what to expect in therapy.
With your best interests in mind, you will decide together what kind of treatment will benefit you the most. At the end of your first session, if you decide to move forward and work with that therapist, you will be asked to schedule further appointments.
At your second appointment, you will work with your therapist to set goals for your overall therapy experience and then begin working together towards achieving them.
